April marks the beginning of a new month for MAE! I’ve got four weeks of movie and music-themed prompts for you. In addition to the daily prompts and weekly goals, I have a NEW Monthly Project that I think you’re really going to enjoy!
You can access each weeks prompts with quick links to reference photos at makingarteverday.com.
If you only draw one piece this week,
Join me in this step-by-step tutorial as I teach you to draw a midcentury-style bucket of movie popcorn with my Magic Paper and Midcentury Illustrators Kit brushes.
Magic Paper is 25 textured canvases and 10 specially developed brushes that will allow you to create beautiful and unique works of art with photo-realistic textures. With Magic Paper, anything you draw will look and feel magical.
If you only draw one piece this month, make a movie poster.
With this project, you’ll be able to complete multiple smaller illustrations throughout the month that will help you build your confidence before sitting down to create your movie poster.
Last week I did my first ever Draw This in Your Style challenge piece and your guys’ response was amazing! I’ve loved seeing everyone’s unique style shine through… especially viewing them on the hashtag #LisaBardotDTiYS hashtag side-by-side. You can still participate and if you haven’t yet!

I get a lot of questions about my personal drawing set up. What iPad do I have? What Apple Pencil do I use? If I use a paper screen protector or not. So I decided to make a page dedicated to answering your questions. I share the iPads and accessories I use, and I even included the links for easy shopping access.
If you’re looking for some art friends, look no further! MAE’s Facebook Group has over 16 thousand members who are all sharing + supporting one another in their art-making journey.
If you’ve enjoyed or found value in my content, consider buying me a donut! It will help me continue to produce high-quality videos, tutorials and free tools for you guys.
Making Art Everyday is a series of daily, weekly, and monthly prompts and challenges to help you overcome creative fears and develop your art-making practice. Every month, we will feature a new theme that will allow you to hone a set of skills, practice drawing something specific, or complete a project.
We’ll stock your inbox with Procreate tips, new releases, and free goodies!
