Day 4 // How to Draw Ears

Play Video

Today we’re moving to the sides of the head and learning all about the ears. The ears are actually really fun to draw! Since they don’t move, it’s much easier to study them and then get super creative with our stylization. We’ll be learning about the ears in the front view as well as the side view.

Fill an entire page with many different ears. Observe ears though reference photos or from life. Try to draw ears of different shapes and sizes and at different angles as well. Notice the differences between a side view and front view.

Example

Keep researching, observing and learning! I’ve made a Pinterest board full of additional resources to help you continue your ear-drawing journey.

This lesson is a part of a month-long series that will get you you familiar with the basics of drawing humans, and help you develop your own people-drawing style. To learn more, check out the People Skills Intro, or continue on to the next lesson below.
