SKILL BUILDING: Drawing Fur

This week we are diving deep into drawing furry animals! Drawing fur can seem daunting, difficult, and time-consuming. A few weeks ago, I avoided drawing furry creatures because it seemed like so much work! So I took some time to teach myself how to do it and discovered a demystifying method that I’m sharing with you! I even developed a set of custom fur brushes for Procreate that I’m giving away for FREE. (more on that in a minute!)

Skillshare is a fantastic platform that will allow me to bring you more in-depth lessons where I can really explore a topic and teach fun new skills! The platform allows me to break the lessons down into bite-sized chunks, deliver additional resources like .Procreate files, and you can also discuss, ask questions, and share your work from the tutorials directly on the lesson page.

There are a lot of amazing features that make it a great place to learn. I’ve poured a ton of love and energy into this class, and I can’t wait to share it with you. I’m so excited to be joining the Skillshare fam!

If you are new to Skillshare, you can get two weeks free on me.

Week 7: Furry Animals

For week six, we have a handful of furry and fluffy animals that will help you sharpen (or maybe fluff-ify) your fur drawing skills. Remember the process you learned last week about breaking down the animal’s body into basic shapes. Alternatively, you can spend each prompt creating a texture study of how to depict that animal’s fur. As always, you can interpret the prompt however you’d like! I cannot wait to see your furry animals!
