Week Three

A whole month of drawing is under your belt, congratulations!

As we embark on a new month, it’s time to take stock of where you’re at. January was all about establishing a habit. Do you feel like making the time to draw is feeling more natural in your day? The idea is make this a part of your routine, instead of something you treat yourself to. Take some time today to reflect on how this has all made you feel. Try to identify what worked for you you, when you felt best, what you struggled with, and what fears your still have.

What to Do

  • Go back and determine your average time spent on a drawing. This is easy to figure out in Procreate. Open one of your drawings, go to the action menu, then, “Canvas”, then “Canvas information”. You’ll find the info under “Tracked Time”. Figure out your “sweet spot” for time
  • Develop your drawing workflow. This week, incorporate sketching your layout into your process. Try to sketch a couple quick ideas before you do your final art.

February Prompts

THE ANIMAL WORLD

It’s time for a new subject matter for the month of February and we’re delving into the world of animals! Animals are a great subject matter because there is so much you can do with them. They can be drawn very simply, with realism, as characters, and in so many ways. Use this month to experiment with style.
