So I dreamed up a series of tutorials to give you a helping hand along the way. I wanted to make some simple tutorials that would give you a system to not only take an easy and creative approach to drawing people, but that would help you begin to develop your OWN style.
That’s what led me to create People Skills: a series of tutorials and assignments that will get you familiar with drawing humans and help you develop your own people-drawing style. I’ve designed this sequence of tutorials to follow the weekly themes for this month. Each day there will be a new lesson, and most of the days will feature a tutorial. I’ve created a special People Skills page that will present you with all the lessons. Each lesson has it’s own page as well — featuring the tutorial, additional information, homework, and examples.
Are you ready to take the people-drawing plunge? The first week of People Skills is all about the face. Each day we’ll focus on a different facial feature, plus facial proportion rules (and how to break them). For this week, DO NOT focus on creating a finished, polished piece each day. Instead, try the homework assignments on the People Skill lesson pages. They are more like “style-idea-brainstorming-sketch-sessions”. Then you can wrap up the week by drawing a complete face!
