Week Twenty-Six

Do you ever feel “frozen”? When it feels hard or impossible to get anything done? How do you get your of your creative freeze?

Have you ever felt simultaneously like you are stuck and getting nothing done and yet somehow your are doing ALL THE THINGS? That’s how I’ve been feeling lately. It’s like a weird combination of anxiety and excitement. Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of all you are accomplishing when the to-do list is still miles long. The feeling of overwhelm is real, people.

Here’s the part where I bestow upon you some knowledge or advice about how to overcome and make it all work. But you know what? I’m still figuring it out. Taking it one day at at time and getting done what I can.

What to Do

  • One thing I’ve found to be helpful when feeling overwhelmed is focusing on one task in particular, and shutting the rest out. And usually the thing I pick is the thing that gives me the most joy. More often than not that thing is drawing. 🙂

June Prompts

Travel

What is your favorite city you’ve ever visited? This week we are exploring some of the most famous cities in the world and also taking a different approach to our illustrations. For each day, I am encouraging you to draw at least 3 things that are iconic or characteristic of that city. I’ve provided some suggestions, but feel free to research on your own! Try to make these few elements come together, to really portray feeling of that location. Check out travel posters for inspiration! If you are having trouble connecting with one of the cities below, feel free to swap it out with a place you love!
