Week twenty-five

Can you believe the year is almost half over!? Many of you have been participating since the beginning of the year (you rock!), but many of you are new to the Making Art Everyday project, so if that’s you, welcome!

The Making Art Everyday project is about making an appointment with yourself to practice creativity. Every day. It’s time you’ve set aside to make “making” a priority. It’s about creating a routine and a ritual. It’s overcoming fears and self-doubt and quieting the voice that says, “I’m just not creative.” It’s learning that creativity is as human as needing to feel loved. It’s giving yourself the gift of self-expression through art. It’s about stretching yourself. It’s putting in the minutes that lead to hours that lead to days that lead to years that transform you into a skilled artist. It’s about opening doors for yourself to do things you never thought possible.

Want to share the magic of creativity?

Are you the receiver of this forwarded email? You are loved. I hope you’ll join us in this journey to becoming your more creative self. You can read more about the Making Art Everyday project by clicking here.

ACTIVITIES

Week 25: Travel

To me, traveling is all about getting yourself out of your comfort zone. Going to a new place can be a little intimidating, but oh so worth it. Where is your favorite place you’ve ever traveled to? Or the place you desire to visit most? I know for many of us, myself included, we have been craving travel since the start of the pandemic. Travel is where my mind gets to wander, and I get experimental with art-making. Hopefully, I’ll get to plan a trip before too long! Until then, I’ll live vicariously through drawing about travel-related things.

This Week's Tutorial

I’m excited to be back for another LIVE tutorial! Join me live to draw a fun bicycle. I don’t know about you, but in the past, whenever I tasked myself with drawing a bicycle, what came out on the paper looked incapable of motion, and very likely structurally unsound. What we think a bike looks like in our heads and what it actually looks like are often two different things. Come along with me and learn how to draw a bike!

I’ll be using brushes from my Pencil Box set, but you are welcome to join with whatever brushes you’d like!

The best place to catch the live stream is on the Bardot Brush YouTube Channel. Don’t forget: You can watch or re-watch the previous livestreams on my tutorials page on Bardot Brush!
