Week Nineteen

Have you ever looked at your growing library of artwork and wondered what the heck to do with it it all? Well, let me introduce you to our Making Art Everyday theme for this month:

Make-Stuff-May

This month we will be exploring the different things you can do with your art. From printing your artwork on apparel, home goods, stickers, fabric, and so much more. Here’s what I have in store for Make Stuff May:

Week 1: Art Supplies

Let’s have fun drawing art supplies as we ease into the world of making stuff with art.

Week 2: Let’s Make Patterns!

The prompts will center around creating patterns, from simple to more complex. I’m putting together a brand new tutorial to teach you exactly how to make repeating patterns in Procreate (it’s easier than you think!)

Week 3: Creative Hobbies (+ stickers!)

This week’s drawing prompts will be about different creative hobbies, such as sewing, woodworking, photography, & more!

We’ll also be discussing all things stickers! Learn how to use Procreate to prep your artwork for sticker-making. I plan to teach you about the different ways you can make stickers, from printing them at home, using a Cricut, and ordering stickers from a vendor.

Week 4: Be a Designer

Our drawing prompts will be based on drawing or designing different products such as hats, mugs, patches, and more. Draw some cute ideas, while learning how to turn your designs into real-life products. I’m putting together a ton of great resources for you!

Lots of fun stuff is in the pipeline and I can’t wait to learn about making stuff together. Please feel free to reach out if there is anything specific you want to learn about this month!

Week 19: Art Supplies

Just a wild guess, but I imagine that you and I might both share a love of all things art. As much as I love making art, I also love making art about making art…are you with me? Drawing art supplies is SO much fun. Maybe it’s something about all the colors, or perhaps it’s the potential magic that is held within those tools and materials. This week our prompts are all about art supplies!

SIDE NOTE: Just a suggestion, but I think your drawings from this week would make a fantastic repeating pattern! If you want to try to make a pattern from your art supplies, consider an overall color palette for the week, and don’t worry about drawing any backgrounds. But don’t stress about it. We’ll be working on patterns in depth next week.
