Two Ways to Draw Oranges in Procreate

In this real-time tutorial, I’ll give a quick introduction to the Making Art Everyday Challenge and how to join. Then we’ll draw the first prompt of the year: orange! I’ll show you two ways you could draw the prompt, depending on how much time you want to spend on it.

Orange shape: Blackburn from the Drawing Set
Orange texture: Clay from the Organic Set
Line work: Chalk from the Calligraphy set

Detailed Orange Illustration

Oranges, branch, leaves and flower shapes: Syrup from the Inking Set
Orange texture: Burnt Tree from the Charcoal set
Branch texture: Thylacine from the Inking set
Leaf texture: Dry Brush from the Painting set
Flower details: 6B Pencil from from the Sketching set
Background: Oriental from from the Painting set

Note: some brushes, including the Oriental brush, were only available in older versions of Procreate. You can download the old brushes here.

I totally love the idea to make art every day! I wish my community would join me there, too but for many people this is really challenging and I totally get it – I’m not different there. All of a sudden a day passed and again I didn’t pull out my iPad. Beautiful drawings, very inspiring, thank you!
