Is there a Desktop Procreate App for Mac?

Procreate is an iPad only app (with the addition of Procreate Pocket for iPhone).

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use Procreate to draw on a MacBook or similar desktop/laptop.

We’ve asked ourselves the same question, if you are able to draw with the Procreate app on your MacBook or iMac?

It would be great to be able to use the incredible software on a more powerful machine. Since the app leverages the incredible tech inside the iPad’s touchscreen and Apple Pencil and it would be hard to replicate the experience across a wide range of technology.

Procreate Alternatives for Mac or PC (Windows)

You can use software like Photoshop, Corel Painter, or GIMP (free). You will need to also purchase a drawing tablet, like those offered by Wacom.

Our recommendation is to use the iPad, Procreate 5, and Apple Pencil.

Why can’t we just mirror them on the screen? Imagine our artwork being able to play ( multiple art images changing across the screen through Apple TV. Mirrored up through just this app.

Today is always a great time to start painting. I’d start with sketching with pencil and paper if you are not already.

Can’t afford a new iPad, and procreate versions that work on my old one are VERY limited. WHY can’t you make a version for iMac and make millions of people happy?!

Yes,indeed,I shelled out $1,200 this May for a Mac Mini, the sales clerk suggesting I might save some money by purchasing a Mac Mini. Since then, returning this device for an upgrade, plus the monitor, plus the wiring, plus the installation has cost me nearly as much if I had purchased the $1,700 I-Mac in the first place! The capper is, as a 60-something, award winning mural artist, it troublesome to me that these young salesmen “tattoo artists” can dash off a FELIX THE CAT image in ten minutes, and yet I’m still struggling to get a decent art program for this computer!

Buy a mac with an ARM processor and big sur and then you can run any ios app.

Why you would want to is beyond me, there are far better drawing applications for desktop than anything on ios.

I honestly think they should make procreate on mac as it would bring so much profit to them. Id be willing to pay big money and im sure many others would be as well.

WOULDN’T YOU JUST BE BETTER OFF BUYING AN IPAD & PENCIL & DOWNLOADING PROCREATE?
IF YR WILLING TO SPEND A TON OF MONEY AS YOU SAID. YOU MAY AS WELL JUST BUY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE & BE CONTENT WITH DRAWING YR HEART OUT. . . NO?

No Brian you can’t run any IOS app..at least supported

Mark at 11:50 am

No not “supported” and it will tell you that when you down load it but I have played many a games and used many apps designed for iOS on my Mac and do notice a difference but for casual use its been just fine. I would like to try Procreate on my Mac but it’s not showing up in the App Store – yes I am looking under the iPhone/iPad tab.

THAT’S STRANGE, I BOUGHT IT FOR MY 12.9 M1 & IT WAS EASY ENOUGH TO FIND & DOWNLOAD.

QUICK QUESTION THO’
IS THE MAC A DESKTOP, IF SO HOW WOULD YOU DRAW ON THE SCREEN?
SORRY IF IT SOUNDS DUMB, I’M JUST TRYING TO UNDERSTAND.

Thats exactly what I was thinking Cheryl. Why would they even want to draw like that, thats the reason Procreate isn’t selling it to Apple.
